Pro: Momeni rugs incorporate attractive, bright designs, and seem well-made for light traffic. This rug is even more attractive than its photo led me to believe. (I have four in the New Wave series.) Momeni rugs are hand-tufted, not knotted, so shedding occurs (e.g., during abrasion from vacuuming and foot traffic, especially initially.) Odor (presumably of adhesive) is pronounced for a few days.Con: This rug sheds much more than usual, in my experience, and had a much more pronounced odor than usual, lasting for at least two weeks. My guess is that it's not a function of the particular design, but instead indicates poor quality control.We had owned a rug about 10 years ago that was very similar to this one, and it had gotten ruined by water damage while stored in my son's basement, so I was thrilled to see this one for sale. I am always a little hesitant to order something online that costs this much, but I took the chance and am very glad I did. The rug arrived, well-wrapped, a week earlier than anticipated, in perfect condition and exactly as described. We have it in our living room of our condo and everyone who walks into the room just oohs and aahs over it. The nap is thick and lush, and the quality of the rug is excellent. We've had it for about two or three months now and love it more every day. I would not hesitate to buy another rug from this excellent company.love the quality of this rug no shedding deep color saturation wears like iron!We looooove our new rug! It really is like a Gustav Klimt painting. It is thick and rich colored. It might be helpful to know that it is such a dark blue that it is almost black in most lights, which is great for us. It came really fast, too. Our dog's red hairs show more on this dark background than the previous rug, but we don't care. It's beautiful.This is Momeni's adaptation of Klimt's 'Wasser Schlangen' (Water Snakes), which I like. The colors are vibrant and the hand sculpting makes the design stand out very clearly.
